CCTV, intercoms and access control

Camera and security systems for Sydney homes and businesses, hardwired and installed properly rather than stuck on with adhesive pads.

What we install

Hardwired against wireless

Wireless cameras are quick to put up and that is genuinely their advantage. The trade-off is that they depend on battery life, wifi coverage at the far corner of the property, and a cloud subscription that can change price or disappear.

A hardwired system runs power and data over a single cable to each camera and records locally. It keeps working when the internet drops, it does not need charging, and the footage belongs to you. For a property you intend to stay in, it is the better long-term answer. For a rental, wireless may well be the sensible choice, and we will say so.

Cameras and the law in NSW

You can record your own property. Where it gets complicated is coverage that extends past your boundary, and audio. Recording a private conversation without consent engages the Surveillance Devices Act, and many domestic cameras record audio by default.

In workplaces, employee surveillance requires written notice in advance under the Workplace Surveillance Act. We will point out where a proposed camera position raises this, though for anything contested you should get your own legal advice rather than relying on your electrician.

A recent job in Summer Hill

A Summer Hill homeowner called after someone attempted to break into their house. We installed a camera system and a wireless security system across the property, so they could see what was happening outside and get an alert if anything triggered again. Two days.

Strata and shared buildings

Cameras on common property need an owners corporation resolution before installation, not after. We can supply a scope and quote suitable for putting to a committee meeting.
